REAL GONE
VIDEO: Sheryl Crow – Real Gone (from Disney’s CARS)
Original With Sing-Along Lyrics
REAL GONE
KARAOKE VERSION (Background Music Only)
“Go ahead! Sing along if you know it!”
[Verse 1]
I was LDS-raised, baptized, full tithes paid
The Brethren taught us wrong from right
Yo, Israel’s my House
Sometimes I have a big mouth
When I see something that I don’t like
I gotta say it!
Well, we’ve been driving this road for a mighty long time
Paying no mind to the signs
Well this neighborhood’s changed
It’s all been rearranged
We left the Truth somewhere behind
[Chorus]
Slow down, you’re gonna crash
Brethren you were screamin’
It’s a blast, blast, blast
Look out bro’ you got your blinders on
while The Woke are looking for a way
To get real gone
Real gone
Real gone
[Verse 2]
But there’s a new seer in town
He’s got high-paid friends
Thinks he’s gonna change history
You think you know them so well
Think the Brethren are swell
But they’re just perpetuating “prophecy”
[Chorus]
(C’mon now!)
Slow down, you’re gonna crash

Brethren, you were screamin’
It’s a blast, blast, blast

Look out, you’ve got your blinders on
While The Woke are looking for a way
To get real gone (uh uh uh uh)
Real gone (uh uh uh uh)
Real gone (uh uh uh uh)
Real gone (uh uh uh uh)
Uh!
(Time For A Brief Interlude)
[Verse 3]
Well you can say what you want
(But you can’t say it ’round here)
‘Cause they’ll catch you and give you a whippin’
Well, I believe we were right
when we said you were wrong
You didn’t like the sound of that
Now did ya?
[Chorus]
Slow down you’re gonna crash
Brethren you were screaming
It’s a blast, blast, blast
Look out you’ve got your blinders on
While The Woke are looking for a way…
… to get real gone
VIDEO: Star Trek The Next Generation – Warp 9, Engage!
Well here I come and I’m so not scared
Got my pedal to the metal
Got my hands in the air
Look out I took my blinders off
I’m gonna find a better way and get real gone
Real gone
Real gone
Ooh
Real gone
Real gone!

AND NOW FOR
THE REST OF THE STORY BEHIND
The “Me And Grandpa Potamus” Version:
PostMormon parody of the Sheryl Crow song,
Real Gone from Disney’s Cars
Yes, ye “saints”, this “scripture” was “revealed” to me, the “prophetess” February 22, 2020. This “holy writ” was by no means connected to and just coincidentally received only a day after Sam Young made a public Facebook post about a change in Handbook 1 of the LDS Church.
Sam discovered that the definition of apostasy had been altered. He named this change “The Grandpa Potamus Policy,” explaining:
“Rather than changing the policy to protect the children, they changed policy to protect the church against people like Grandpa Potamus objecting to dangerous policies“
This “higher law”, The Parody of Real Gone, although privately shared among family, close associates and the spiritually mature, remained unpublished until September 11, 2020.
According to the divine pattern of botanic reference first established by Brother Joseph when he named “The Olive Leaf” section of the Doctrine and Covenants, our Sister, the Prophetess Katie refers to this revelation as “The Burdock Leaf”.
The leaf of the burdock has long been used to relieve the pain, swelling and itching of poison oak, while its root is a healer, detoxifier, cleanser and probiotic. The burrs, though intelligently designed to GTFO ASAP upon full maturity, are “a bane of ranchers, farmers, [college students and Irish setter] owners. [Yet they] protect the powerful seeds that are strong-acting against acute infections.
As I see it, the Grandpa Potamus Policy = Childishness and the desire to be very grown up.
Look at all the very grown up apostles at the very grown up law firm that legally represents the very grown up Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Funny how so many descriptive adjectives ending in “ish” mean “to be somewhat like”… but not in the case of childish. Somehow in English there’s been a distinction made between childish and childlike. Why IS that? I think it is because of the adult hatred and misunderstanding of children… and the blind desire to control and silence these little ones.
But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. – Luke 18:16
I saw this post on Sam Young’s page in 2019 and was so touched by the sentiment, that I saved it with a screenshot. It was a promise Sam made good on, over and over again.
Chilling with Sam, Melody, my family and Sam’s friend after the March To End Child Abuse last October 5th, 2020. #SermonOnCapitalMount
